The Republican Party’s Idolatry of Donald Trump
Now that Donald Trump is the god of the conservative Christian right and MAGA Republicans, Jesus Christ is nowhere to be seen on the horizon. They have turned Jesus into something unrecognizable, and non-believers want no part of their mean spirited Jesus. In the end, they will have to answer for turning away nonbelievers from Christ.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Trump supporters have reinvented Jesus into a god of hate, malevolence, and darkness. No matter how hateful or ungodly an idea they conjure up in their depravity, Trump supporters will always manage to throw the name of Jesus behind it. They shamelessly prostitute His name repeatedly, regardless of the vile or contemptuous vitriol they create out of thin air.
Donald Trump is the god they worship, but their true god is Satan. Satan owns Donald Trump and likewise he owns them. Trump comes first before Jesus, because if he didn’t, a true follower of Christ would not follow or partake in such evil. After all, his wicked followers now call Trump the “chosen one” - a true slap in the face of Jesus Christ. Trump naturally capitalized on this mantra immediately. Sadly, this is the mindset of Republicans today, and rest assured Satan is delighted.
Trump supporters are not concerned with where they will spend eternity – it is the furthest thing on their mind. I can unequivocally say, unless their hearts change, it won’t be Heaven. Do you really believe you can walk in hate and nurture evil in this world, and on your deathbed ask for mercy? No, it is inescapable; you will pay the ultimate price for your hate.
Speaking of the “Chosen One” who has stolen the rightful place of Jesus Christ in the Trump supporter’s heart, I was actually surprised no Republican, conservative Christian seemed offended by this term. My bad, I should had known better. Even worse, no Trump supporter I know of was outraged by Donald’s Trump comparing his suffering to those of Jesus Christ.
They ignored his blasphemy, and didn’t miss a beat in protecting and promoting Trump’s reprehensible words. To demean the gift of eternal life as if a mere man could suffer as Jesus Christ suffered, is the height of arrogance and evil. Yet they chose Trump over God; not even one defended Jesus that I know of – not one.
For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”1 Samuel 15:23
No one who stirs up strife will get away with it – not even a king, Donald Trump or yourself. When you side with an evil man and idolize him in your heart – you made the choice for Donald Trump to be your god. He comes first. Donald Trump is totally diabolical to the nature of Jesus Christ. No sane person would ever call Donald Trump a good man or even a Christian man. Only someone with evil in his or her heart would say such a thing.
The Holy Spirit does not take residence in those who take delight in evil and hate, whether it be a person, place, or thing. You have made the choice to drown out the voice of God. The voice within you belongs to Satan, because he is more than happy to fan the flames of hatred inside of you. Satan is the master of deception, and he has a found a way to make your hate acceptable. You got plenty of company who will follow you to hell, unless you repent.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Trump supporters happily embrace all Donald Trump’s hateful speech, his numerous crimes, and his flat out mockery of Almighty God. Because you are complicit in that mockery - you are just as guilty as Trump. You make up lame excuses in your head; like he didn’t do this or that, when there are mountain loads of evidence to confirm otherwise. But you won’t think too hard about it, because you don't want to take ownership of your hate. Donald Trump’s hateful and ungodly disposition and speech is on display day after day in the media - even on his own social sites.
You are without excuse. You don’t fool me or anyone else for that matter. You certainly do not fool Jesus, and His heart is broken because you are standing by such an evil, vile man. However, God knows why – He knows the hate in your heart, and a spirit of Hate is incompatible with Heaven. You will never be in the presence of a Holy God in Heaven, if you die with a spirit of hate in your heart.
You will be judged, and you will be lost for eternity. I am telling you today – you’re on notice. Satan, the one you follow here on earth will become your one and only god; although the god in your heart now is Donald Trump. Sadly, he is your true god now on this earth, no matter what absurd theory or asinine excuses you come up with to cover up your hatred of others or Trump's misdeeds.
That’s bad news for people like Donald Trump, Majorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, Charlie Kirk, Steve Bannon, and many others; but they just don’t care. You don’t care either and Jesus is well aware of it. They seek only earthly treasures, not Heavenly treasure. They are literally infested with hate. They have absolutely no fear of God, and this goes for all the conservative evangelicals who support Trump. Donald Trump is a total mockery to our faith, and it has left permanent damage on our witness to the world.
God has a message for Trump supporters, the same message he has for all of us. God does not change, He is the Alpha and the Omega. But make no mistake, God is the antithesis of hate, and He will hold you accountable. You will have to answer for all those watching in the world who are mortified by your newly invented version of Christianity. You will pay for your hate, but even more so for those who you help steer away from the real Jesus Christ. Not only in this world, but for eternity in the world to come.
Not everyone who says to me,‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you.
